Hot cocoa, Santa and Mrs. Claus, vendors, free Bingo, kid’s make-and-take activities, food, and prizes.
That’s a small preview of what will be in store for those visiting the Freeman Community Center at 224 S. Wipf Street in Freeman on Thursday, November 30. It’s all part of the annual Hometown Christmas celebration sponsored by the Freeman Community Development Corporation.
While the event will run from 5 to 7:30 PM, Santa and Mrs. Claus plan to greet children for photos and stories until 7 PM; parents and grandparents are encouraged to snap pictures. Their visit is courtesy of Vintage Vault Floral. And, to make sure that Santa won’t have to remember all of the requests received during the meet-and-greet, Priority Real Estate will assist the Vintage Vault with Letters to Santa. Kids who write letters can really expect to receive a written response from the North Pole!
Food booths are expected to close at 7 PM, as well, unless, of course the goodies are depleted before then. Growing Dreams Learning Center will be serving taverns, chips and bottled water. Holiday treats and sweets will be made available by Little Blessings Day Care, with both entities accepting freewill donations to be used in support of their licensed child care facilities in Freeman.
Freeman Regional Health Services will again host a hot cocoa table. With an assortment of treats and toppings available to mix with the cocoa, this table was an especially popular destination during last year’s event.
Kid’s make-and-take activities, headed up by Freeman Regional Health Services Assisted Living and Vermeer, will also be available. Kids and adults of all ages are also invited to try their luck with the free Bingo games that will be taking place in the small meeting room adjacent to the main event area. Prizes will be awarded and the games will continue until all prizes are gone.
For the shopping convenience of all in attendance, twenty-two Mistletoe Market vendors spread throughout the celebration. A complete vendor listing can be found in the “Calendar” section of this website.
For those simply wanting to enjoy a time of socializing as the holiday season gets underway, tables and chairs will be available at the venue for just that purpose, as holiday music plays in the background.
