Freeman Businesses Welcome Halloween Scavenger Hunt Participants

The Freeman Community Development Corporation, in collaboration with member businesses, is again sponsoring a Halloween Scavenger Hunt from 3:30-5:30 PM on Monday, October 31.

Kids in costume and accompanied by a parent are invited to visit participating businesses for a treat and some great deals. Kids who have their passport form stamped by 12 of the participating businesses can drop off the completed forms - including the child's name and phone number - at Vintage Vault Floral & Fashions, 394 S. Main Street, by 6 PM on Halloween. Those passports will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win $10 of Freeman Bucks, certificates that can be used just like cash at any Freeman business. Five winners will be chosen from those entered.

Located along Freeman's new Main Street, on Highway 81 and in other areas throughout town, Freeman merchants taking part in this year's event are BrickHouse Lounge, CorTrust Bank, East River Furniture, Et Cetera Shoppe, Fensel's Greenhouse, Freeman Country Inn, Freeman Public Library, Freeman Regional Health Services/Oakview Terrace, Freeman Shopping Center, First Interstate Bank, Insurance Services, Jamboree Foods, Mannes Floral, Merchants State Bank, Modern Woodmen, Printed Impressions, Salem Mennonite Home, STERN, Vermeer, Vintage Vault Floral & Fashions, Vison Care Associates, and Waltner Media + Studios/The Courier. All are listen on the Scavenger Hunt form, with some noting closing times prior to 5:30 PM.

Scavenger Hunt forms will be distributed at Freeman Public Elementary, Freeman Academy Elementary, Growing Dreams Learning Center and Little Blessings Daycare. A downloadable form can also be found in the "Calendar" section of this website, as well as in the October 25 edition of the Area Wide Connection, available in print and online at FreemanSD.com.
